Environmental Testing

Signed into Law by Governor Bruce Rauner on January 16, 2017, Senate Bill 0550 established lead testing requirements and protocols for all water sources used for cooking and drinking within some schools and day care facilitates as well as requirements for water providers to compile a lead materials inventory and provide notification during water distribution work.

Unity Point's final lead test results as reported were no higher than 1.5 ppb (parts per billion) across all categories.

Stevens Amendment

Projects or programs funded in whole or in part with Federal grant money must credit the Federal government for the Federal government's portion of the financial support.

Compliance 518 - Special Education and Section 504

The school district posts on its Internet website and incorporates into its student handbook or newsletter notice that students with disabilities who do not qualify for an individualized education program, as required by the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and implementing provisions of the School Code, may qualify for services under Section 504 of the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973 if the child (i) has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, (ii) has a record of a physical or mental impairment, or (iii) is regarded as having a physical or mental impairment.
