Unity Point employs three full-time Title Reading teachers and a full-time Title aide; and at ourschool we do not have Title 1 math. I do pull-out of small groups with 3 or 4 first grade students on letter sounds, high frequency words, guided reading, test strategy skills. Basically, of the groups are to improve the 5 pillars of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. In addition, I work with small groups of students in fourth, fifth, sixth,, seventh and eighth grades as well on targeted reading interventions such as vocabulary instruction and comprehension.
