Congratulations to our former Unity Point student Ryan Dai!
We are proud to share that CCHS student Ryan Dai has received a perfect ACT score! Ryan, who is also a GFF sponsored student, has a few words to say about his achievement.
"I was pleasantly surprised when I was informed that Dr. Booth had recognized my achievement. To be honest, this has been a whirlwind of a semester, so I have not looked back on what I have done," Ryan says.
"Leading up to the ACT, I was doing a bit of a balancing act. The ACT was scheduled two weeks after the IHSA Scholastic Bowl Tournament, two weeks before ACES state, 1 month before AP tests, and during the period I was working on history fair. I was still able to study for the exam for about two weeks, some moments of which were rough. In the end, I could not have been happier with the results," Ryan explains.
"I would like to thank Dr. Booth for recognizing me and everyone at CCHS for being incredibly supportive. My teachers both at CCHS have taught me everything I needed to know to excel on the ACT, and I am thankful for all of the test prep we did in class," Ryan says.
"The Garwin Family Foundation has also been an instrumental part of my success. Last summer, I was given the opportunity to attend UChicago Summer Immersion and study economics. In the program, we read a lot of scholarly articles, which helped on the ACT. Beyond that, I met many other high-achieving students in the program, which has motivated me to work harder. In the future, I plan on studying economics in college and look to work in academia," Ryans adds.
